RM Sotheby’s set the record for the highest ever total for a collector car auction, announcing an official total of $172.9 million in sales.
In a press release issued by the auction house today, they announced that they bested last year’s performance by 20 percent. At the top of their sales was a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM that fetched an astonishing $17.6 million. Additionally, The Pinnacle Portfolio set the benchmark for the highest single-day, single-vendor auction at $75.4 million.
