Art Meets Impact: The Gavel Trail and Auction Launches to Raise Funds for Life-Changing Charities

When George Wade received the life-altering diagnosis of two brain tumours in early 2024, few could have imagined the wave of inspiration and charitable impact that would follow.

Now, through the efforts of the Bidpath Foundation—launched in George’s honor—and in partnership with Wild in Art, a powerful initiative is set to raise vital funds for organisations dedicated to brain health and children’s palliative care.

Introducing: The Gavel Trail and Auction

From September through October 2025, the Gavel Trail will feature more than a dozen striking, artist-designed sculptures—each in the shape of an auctioneer’s gavel and block—on display across the UK and internationally. These unique artworks will culminate in a high-profile auction on November 6 at the RICS Westminster.

Proceeds will go to:

  • The Brain Tumour Charity
  • The National Brain Appeal
  • ICPCN (International Children’s Palliative Care Network)
In many ways I feel fitter and healthier than I have ever been... I love a challenge. – George Wade
“We focus on organisations whose vital work is often overlooked, ensuring they have the resources to make a meaningful impact.” – David Brindley, CEO of Bidpath

Pre-bidding is open now at: https://bidpath.wildinartauctions.com

A Personal Story That Sparked a Movement

George’s journey—from major surgery to running a personal best in the London Marathon—has already raised nearly £50,000 toward a £100,000 fundraising goal by the end of 2025. His courage, determination, and optimism have inspired colleagues, clients, and auctioneers across the globe to rally behind this campaign.

Colleagues at auction technology leader Bidpath were so inspired by George’s story that they launched the Bidpath Foundation—a charitable arm focused on supporting underrepresented yet vital causes through community-led auction initiatives.

Auction Highlights

  • 15+ one-of-a-kind gavel sculptures
  • Sponsored by auction houses including Tennants, Hansons, Chiswick Auctions, and others
  • Live and online bidding takes place on November 6 at 7:00pm
