Our Strategy

Our business model already delivers significant sustainability benefits by driving the circular economy and our environmental footprint is by design already low. We have assessed our impacts using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, B-Corporation Business Impact Assessment and the GreenCode scheme, and have developed our strategy and plans based on these three frameworks.

By driving the circular economy, we will help conserve resources and enable clients to provide consumers with more accessible alternatives to newly manufactured items. In our operations, we will continually drive down our own environmental footprint, commit to net zero CO2 emissions by 2030 and operate as a zero waste to landfill and zero single use plastics company from 2023.

We pledge to be as transparent as possible on this journey as we move along it. This includes regular and annual reports, and consistent communication of our intentions and efforts as time goes on. We are always open to suggestions of what you would like to hear from us on our reports, any feedback or ideas can be sent to [email protected]

Our Four Areas of Focus

Our Planet

Our strategy is to drive the circular economy with minimum impact from our operations :

  • We are measuring and minimising scope 1 and 2 CO2e emissions with a target to offset 100% of these emissions by the end of 2023. We have already moved most of our company vehicles to electric, with the last one transitioning in March 2023 and our entire workforce is home based, reducing the need for commuting and an extensive office footprint.
  • We are extending this to our scope 3 emissions with a target to be net zero by the end of 2025. We have audited all our scope 3 emissions to allow us to identify priority areas for reduction in 2023.
  • By design our organisation produces virtually no waste. Our target in 2023 is to be zero waste to landfill with 100% recycling of all office materials and to be free from single use plastic in all forms. We already ensure all e-waste is recycled and re-purposed.
  • We engage all our staff in a program to encourage them to analyse and reduce their personal environmental footprints, including those from their home working environment.

Our People

Our people are our greatest asset and to support this :

  • We provide high quality jobs with leading benefits packages. We invest in significant training and development for all employees, to develop professional, personal and technical skills.
  • We ensure all our employees have clarity in terms of their roles and objectives and that they receive regular feedback.
  • We have invested in a wellness program to help all our employees develop skills and techniques to enhance their physical and mental health.
  • We measure employee satisfaction and employee diversity to help us to develop a highly satisfied and diverse workforce.

Our Community

It is important to us that we are an externally facing organisation helping to drive the circular economy and also playing a broader role in society. To achieve this :

  • We will engage in activities to promote the circular economy and the role of the auction industry within the circular economy.
  • We will provide our software and expertise to help support and raise money in charity auctions.
  • We will encourage and allow our employees to engage in charity and community activities as part of their paid employment. We will also raise money and donate to charities that we select each year.
  • We will engage with our suppliers and business partners to drive sustainability throughout our supply chain.

Our Governance

We have set up the company in a way to put sustainability and circular economy principles at the heart of what we do :

  • The Senior Leadership Team are personally responsible for driving our sustainability program and we have a Director accountable for the delivery of the program.
  • Every employee has a role to play and this is described in their Role Profile and set out in their Annual Objectives. All employees are appraised against these.
  • We have an employee sustainability engagement program that focusses on both how the company can improve and also what individual employees can do to improve their sustainability footprint.
  • We have set the very highest ethical standards for the company and all employees and we demand the same from our suppliers and business partners.
Our Supported Charities & Volunteering

We are passionate about encouraging and allowing our employees to engage in charitable and community activities as part of their paid employment and keeping our beaches clean. We also have pledged to raise funds and donate to charities that each of our regional teams select each year. We aim to support 6 charities across North America, United Kingdom, Europe.
