Historics Auctioneers achieved a world-record sale for this 1976 Ford Escort Mk II RS1800.
A True Collector’s Car
The Ford Escort Mk II RS1800 is a legendary rally-bred car, with only 109 genuine RS1800s ever produced. This particular example, finished in Diamond White with iconic blue decals, was originally a Ford press demonstrator and had been in the same family’s ownership since 1977. Showing just 24,186 miles, its originality and provenance made it an unmissable opportunity for serious collectors.
A Record-Breaking Result
The sale took place at Historics’ Summer Serenade Auction on 19 July 2025 at Windsorview Lakes. After attracting significant international attention, the hammer fell at a staggering £276,848, setting a new benchmark for this model and proving the continued demand for historically important rally cars.
Celebrating Our Client’s Success
We are delighted to congratulate Historics Auctioneers on this incredible achievement. Bidpath is proud to work with leading auctioneers around the world and to celebrate their successes, whether or not the record-breaking sale was hosted on our platform.
